Keeping a healthy body is just as important as keeping a healthy mind. Can’t go to work if you are feeling ill. Mentally or physically. For some of us, the words “working out” is just as bad as a four-letter curse word.
Dear GOD! Working out? Sweating? No thank you. Please, let me eat my Oreos in peace. From personal experience, I HATE working out. But, I realized that when I work out with a group of friends or even co-workers, that mutual accountability is what keeps me going.
So, the purpose of this article is to get us all headed on the path to greatness.
Currently, a group of us, my coworkers and myself, are all helping each other get motivated and stay motivated for better health. When your body is healthy, your mental is healthy. And you can use that motivation for your work day. If you start the day full of energy for a workout, you can do the same for that 8 to 5, Monday through Friday.
I’d like to challenge you all to join in on what I am calling: Better Physical Better Mental.
Park farther from your office and get your step count up, eat healthier snacks in-between meals, walk at a park. Do something to get your body moving. If you are in shape, then maintain that shape or work on your mental health. Meditate for 15 minutes, write in a journal, write positive notes for yourself and post them in your bathroom, on your phone, or on your mirror in your bedroom.
If you have other ideas, share them with us! Let’s better ourselves so that when it’s time for our professional gears to go into overdrive our bodies and minds can keep up with it too!
